Laughter Matters is a mobile app built to lift mood and wellbeing through humour and positive storytelling. For a humanitarian client with roots in Croatia and active missions across Europe and Africa, it connects supporters with projects — from clown therapy visits in European cities to community fundraising for aid work in Kenya, Rwanda, and beyond.

The legacy NativeScript app was difficult to maintain and could not support new product ideas at the pace the organisation needed. The client required a full rewrite to React Native, additional features, redesigned screens, and a dependable release process for both major app stores.
We reimplemented every feature from the original app in React Native, designed new flows for project discovery, supporter profiles, and post-donation sharing, and added an Instagram-style stories component for mission highlights. The updated app shipped to the App Store and Google Play with a cleaner UI, faster iteration, and room to grow the charity's digital presence.
Release velocity
React Native migration enabled faster feature shipping compared with the unmaintainable NativeScript codebase.
Donation flow
Redesigned project discovery and post-donation sharing improved repeat engagement with fundraising campaigns.
Mission storytelling
Stories-style mission highlights increased time in app and gave supporters a reason to return between donations.
