We're hiring a Manual QA Engineer to protect release quality on client web and mobile products. You'll analyse requirements, design test coverage, run functional and regression cycles, and give the team a clear picture of what's ready to ship. The role suits detail-oriented testers who write structured documentation, report bugs engineers can reproduce on the first try, and work comfortably in Agile teams alongside developers, designers, and project leads.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse user stories, acceptance criteria, and specs to plan test coverage for each sprint
- Design, document, and maintain test cases, checklists, and regression suites
- Execute functional, smoke, regression, and exploratory testing on web and mobile applications
- Verify bug fixes, re-test affected areas, and validate builds on staging before production release
- Log defects with clear reproduction steps, severity, environment details, and evidence (screenshots, screen recordings, logs)
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing, including responsive layouts and mobile browsers
- Validate REST APIs with Postman or similar tools — status codes, payloads, auth, and edge cases
- Run basic SQL queries to confirm data integrity and backend state after user actions
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, and demo sessions as the QA representative
- Prepare test summaries, release notes for QA, and communicate readiness or blockers to the team
Requirements
- 2+ years of commercial experience in manual QA for web or mobile software products
- Solid understanding of testing fundamentals — test design techniques, test levels, and defect lifecycle
- Experience creating and maintaining test documentation (test cases, checklists, test reports)
- Strong bug reporting skills with expected vs actual results and sound severity/priority judgment
- Hands-on testing of web apps across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and mobile browsers
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery and working in cross-functional product teams
- Experience with issue trackers such as Jira, Linear, YouTrack, or similar
- Basic API testing with Postman, Swagger, or browser DevTools (Network tab)
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and habit of exploring beyond happy-path scenarios
- English: Intermediate (B1) or higher for task discussions, bug reports, and team communication
Nice to have
- Experience testing React, Next.js, or React Native products
- Mobile app testing on physical iOS/Android devices and emulators
- SQL for data validation (SELECT, JOINs, filtering)
- Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or network debugging with browser DevTools
- Test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or Qase
- Interest in growing toward test automation (Playwright, API checks) over time
